Nexus 7 2012 Edition Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OTA Update

1 comment :

Google has published the official OTA Update zip file of the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop LRX22G firmware for the 2012 Nexus 7 Wi-Fi tablet.

This is a file that you can use in order to upgrade your tablet manually through “adb sideload” without waiting for official OTA Update notification to arrive in your region.

Google is usually pushing out updates in phases, which means that not all the Nexus 7 2012 Wi-Fi tablets will be getting the new Android 5.0.2 firmware update before the end of this year. If you are an advanced user and you wish to install the new LRX22G firmware file manually, then you can use the OTA Update zip file here and upgrade your 2012 Nexus 7 Wi-Fi tablet with the latest Lollipop build.

This LRX22G Android 5.0.2 Lollipop firmware is released only for the 2012 Edition of the Google Nexus 7 Wi-Fi tablet with the ‘nakasi’ codename and there is no word on its availability for any other Nexus devices. It is a small update that comes with some bug fixes and stability improvements. Check the Developers changelog here in order to learn more about the changes that you will see in this new Android 5.0.2 LRX22G firmware.

It is highly recommended for you to install this new release of Android OS on your Nexus 7 2012 Wi-Fi, so that your tablet will be running the best possibly firmware. Note that this OTA Update zip is only destined to be used on Nexus 7 tablets that are 100% stock, you won’t be able to flash any new updates in case your tablet is running a modified Android ROM.

If you don’t know how to flash such updating firmware files, then you should read the instructions that I’ve listed in the tutorial here. Note that this guide is for advanced users only, and in no way we will be held responsible in case you end up bricking your Nexus 7 2012 Wi-Fi tablet.
